Sweet Garden, from Toast, is a simulation game of planting your very own garden directly on your homescreen. For those who are familiar with pet-raising simulation games you will get the idea for Sweet Garden. In this app, it acts as a widget instead of a stand alone app. So it will be on your home screens at all time.

It is completely new simulation game where you raise a pet, known as Ppu – the Sweet Garden pet. This app is played as a widget on your homescreen. This ensures that your pet is constantly available and ‘alive’. You must care for, manage and grow your tiny seedling into a blossoming full plant. The most interesting part is when it starts talking to you.

Pros

  • Cute simulation game of caring for and raising an animated garden!
  • The Sweet Garden lives as a widget on your homescreen!
  • Addictive!

Cons

  • “Notice for Sweet Garden” stays glued to your notification bar and you cannot remove it.
  • Reading the instructions dialogue might be a bit disorienting, it becomes easier to understand how to play by just jumping in and playing.

I generally stay away from games like this because I don’t want to feel like I have to constantly check on “my pet”, but with Sweet Garden you can play at your own pace, and still have the satisfaction of watching your pet grow. It’s pretty cool, and I can’t be the only one that feels this way because it has only been in the Play Store for a couple of days and it has a rating of 4.7 (out of 5) from 512 users who took the time to rate it.

If you are a fan of these type of games, then yes, absolutely. This particular app is free but you can upgrade for $0.99 and get rid of some ads. This is recommended because the icons are quite small to tap and it is all too easy to find yourself viewing yet another ad, just when you wanted to water your plant, or similar. If you want to try it and see, then download the free version first to check it’s for you.

If you do download this game, choose a convenient place on your homescreen as your cutie will greet you every time you unlock your phone. As always, let me know what you think.:)
